UNC

Talk about blowouts. Monday nights championship game between the North Carolina Tar Heels and the Michigan State Spartans was a blowout. The Spartans were beat at the start of the first tip. Less than five minuates into the game they were down by double digits and North Caronlina never looked back. Michigan State was down by the most points in history at the half of the championship game and North Carolina scored more points than any other team at the half. Michigan State was outrebounded and outplayed, turning the ball over countless times. During the entire tournament Michigan State was prided on their amazing defense, so what happened?
Panic. Michigan State was so nervous about playing in the National Championship game that they made simple mistakes that they had not commited all year. After all this panic there was no room for mistakes. The University of North Carolina took advantage of every turnover and every missed shot. Michigan States big men were no mach for North Carolina's and Michigan States gaurds played poor. Here are some pictures from the game:http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/gallery?Site=C4&Date=20090406&Category=SPORTS07&ArtNo=904060807&Ref=PH&Profile=1048
So where does State and UNC go from here. The University of North Carolina is losing ten players from this years team, leaving no starters and few backups. They are in for a rough year as they try to sort out their line ups and reastablish themselves on top. Michigan State University will be much better off next year even though they are losing some key players. Suton is gone and we have no big man. I don't think that either of them will have a shot next year. Oklahoma should be the prime team should Blake Griffin choose to reaturn but if not you can pretty much count them out. Who knows? Michigan could be in the mix next year. Duke and Louisville should still be strong. Look for Kansas and Kentucky to be in the mix with good coaches. Memphis will have a transition year. I don't know about you but I'm ready for next season.

AI complains

Alan Iverson Recently said that he would rather retire than contiue to come off the bench. Personally I feel he is immature and a washed up player. He needs to think about the team more than himself. It is pretty funny that no team he has been on has won a championship. Not only did he ruin the chemistry in the locker room but he also has not contributed on the floor. Rip has suffered because of this and the team has no chance at a championship. We have made it to the Eastern Conference Championship every season for the past six years and if we don't make it this year I blame Iverson. The Pistons used to be a team, Allen Iverson does not know how to play on a team. After this year there is alot of good players in the market and we will have money once Allen Iverson and Rasheed Wallace is gone. We need to tough it out this year with a starting lineup with:
1:Rodney Stuckey
2:Rip Hamelton
3:Tayshaun Prince
4:Antonio Mcdyess
5:Rasheed Wallace alternating with Jason Maxell
If we do this than we may have a shot at winning in the post season. The way things are going we may be playing Orlando, a team we have dominated in the past few years. Personally I feel that we can beat any team in the country if we figure this whole AI mess out. We can beat LA and Cleveland is a joke. Boston may pose a challange for us but they are in a bit of a slump with injurys. If we fail to go anywhere this post season than Coach Curry will be on the hot seat for next year. I don't think anyone saw this coming just a few months ago. we were in prime postion to be a force in the leauge and so far we have blown it. So maybe Allen Iverson is finally right for once, he SHOULD retire.
